Joseph Clay Hawkins was born to Willam and Bernice Hawkins on March 8th, 1968, in Bastrop County, Texas. Joseph grew up and attended the public schools of Bastrop County. He accepted Christ as a young man and always feared God but loved him dearly.
Joseph had a kind heart, a charismatic nature, and a wonderful spirit that made him endeared by many. We called him “Wolf,” and he was often called “JoJo.” by his sister. Joseph wore many hats, including a beloved son, a good brother, a sweet nephew, a fun uncle, a ride-and-die cousin, and a dependable friend to many.
The Lord called Joseph home on February 16, 2024, and the Angels rejoiced. Awaiting Joseph’s arrival in Glory are his parents, William and Bernice Hawkins, and his sisters, Alice Cook and Loretta Hawkins-Stanley.
Joseph was blessed with fifty-five years, and he leaves to cherish his memories his sisters, May White, Elvera Griffin (Elmo), Florence Johnson, and Sesly Hawkins; his brothers, William Hawkins Jr and Kenneth Hawkins (Annie); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
