Joe Fredrick

July 26, 1942 — August 1, 2017

Words cannot express the humility in this man; we called Husband, Daddy, Granddaddy, Uncle, Cousin, Friend, Christian, Child of God…

Mr. Joe Fredrick went peacefully to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 with his family at his bedside. Joe was born to Earnest and Mattie Fredrick on July 26, 1942 in a little community in Williamson County. He attended O. L. Price High School in Taylor, Texas.

Joe was united in Holy Matrimony to the love of his heart, Odessa Deary in 1957 and they were blessed with five children.

Joe led a fulfilling and active life, for this legacy he established is endless. Joe moved to Houston in 1971, landing a job as an elevator repairman for the City of Houston. Because of his passion for junk cars, it became his favorite hobby, earning him a successful business as a dealer of “junk cars”.

At the age of seventy-five, Joe heard the voice of Jesus and left his earthly tabernacle to join his parents, brothers, Tim, LeDay, Earnest, and Earlie; one sister, Mattie May and a grandson, Jerry Hines, Jr. Joe led a rewarding and active life as he desired.

Mr. Fredrick leaves in God’s hands to cherish his legacy, his wife of sixty years, Odessa Fredrick; his five children, Joe Fredrick, Jr., Bobby Fredrick, Renee Caesar, Willie Fredrick and Anthony Fredrick all of Houston; his siblings, Eugene Fredrick of Austin, Mary Ann Fredrick of Taylor, and Angelina Fredrick of Austin; ten grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, a multitude of nieces and nephews spanning to four generations, and a host of other relatives and friends.

The Battle is Over, Joe !
