JaNelle Grosse Kastner, 74, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, early Thursday morning, January 10, 2013. She was born in Austin, Texas the only daughter of Walter Otto Grosse and Margaret Lynn DeGlandon Grosse on February 24, 1938. After graduating from Austin High School, she worked for the City of Austins finance department for several years. In 1958, she began her career with the Austin Jefferson Employee Federal Credit Union, where she worked as the bookkeeper until her retirement.On May 25, 1957, she married the love of her life, David Cecil Kastner. Together they had three beautiful daughters. JaNelle loved taking cruises and traveling with family to the beach, listening to music, reading Nicholas Sparks novels, shopping with her daughters and grandchildren, bowling, and nights out dancing with her husband. She also enjoyed surfing the internet on her iPad with her friend, Quito on her lap. She was a faithful member of Faith Lutheran Church in Austin and a lifetime member of the Sons of Hermann.She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 55 years, David Cecil Kastner her three daughters, Debra Jo and husband Dale Turnipseed, Cynthia Dee Knock, and Davina Lynn and husband Christopher Cielencki four grandchildren, Ryan Lee Turnipseed, Katelyn Elizabeth Turnipseed, Aaron Joseph Knock, and Margaret Arlene Cielencki her brother, Larry Walter Grosse and wife Dorothy her faithful shadow, Quito and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and dear friends.Memorials can be made in JaNelles memory to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Lone Star Chapter, 8111 North Stadium Drive, Houston, TX 77054, or the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, P.O. Box 650309, Dallas, 6503009.The family will receive guests at the Elgin Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Sunday, January 13th. A funeral service will be conducted at Elgin Funeral Home at 10:30 AM Monday, January 14th with the Reverend, W. M. Werner and Willard Rother officiating. Interment will follow at the McDade Cemetery.
