Irene Louise Bastian Edmiston, 79, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday evening, June 2, 2013. She was born in Port Lavaca, Texas on September 4, 1933, to Adolf and Modene Bastian. On September 9, 1950, she married the love of her life, J.T. Jake Edmiston. Together they raised two sons and two daughters in Del Valle, Texas. Irene was a devoted wife and mother to her family. Her children knew that she was always there to make sure they had everything they needed and on the right path. She had a great love for all of Gods creatures and had many pets that she considered her four legged children.She was preceded in death by both her parents and her husband of almost 40 years, Jake Edmiston.She leaves to cherish her memory her four children a son, Jay Edmiston and wife Tricia of Sandia, Texas two daughters, Brenda and husband Wayland Holder and Nancy Edmiston all of Cedar Creek, Texas youngest son, Thomas Edmiston and wife Tracy of Red Rock, Texas eight grandchildren, John Tator Edmiston and wife Hope, Jennifer Edmiston, Amanda Fredrick, Christi Diamond, Justin Holder, Jenna Edmiston, Jared Edmiston, and Adam Edmiston five greatgrandchildren, Shelby Edmiston, Sierra Cuellar, J.T. Edmiston III, Grace Fredrick, and Brynlee Fredrick daughterinlaw, Billie Cromeans two sisters, Bertie and husband Gene Allen and Linda and husband Gene Lynch one brother, Jackie Bastian and many nieces and nephews. Her life was dedicated to loving her family.The family will receive guests at the Elgin Funeral Home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday, June 4th. A funeral service will be graveside at J.J. Manor Cemetery in Webberville at 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 5th.
