Ignacio E. Castillo, Sr., affectionately known as Nacho or Apa, went to be with his Heavenly Father Monday morning, March 18, 2013. Ignacio was the first born of ten children to Florentino Castillo and Bonifacia Estrada Castillo in Manor, Texas on July 31, 1923. He grew up in Pflugerville and worked with his family on the Anderson and Timmerman farms. On December 16, 1950, he married Demetria Renteria together this union bore eleven children, four sons and seven daughters. They soon moved to Elgin, where he began working as a truck driver for the Elgin Standard Brick Company. After many years of service with Elgin Standard Brick Company, he began driving for Stripling Blake Lumber Company, where he worked until his retirement in 1986. As soon as he moved to Elgin, he became a faithful member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where he professed a great faith in his Catholic Religion, having made his Crusillo in November of 1958. He prayed many Holy Rosaries for funerals and novenarios as well as continuing to attend regular meetings and Clausuras until his death. He is preceded in death by both his parents, his first wife of 31 years, Demetria Renteria Castillo and his second wife of 23 years, Ester Selvera Castillo and his three brothers, Ralph, Manuel, and Alfred Castillo. He leaves to cherish his memory his four sons, Ignacio Castillo, Jr. and wife Yolanda, Florentino Castillo and wife Gloria, Arthur Castillo and wife Liz Eddie Castillo and wife Michelle and seven daughters, Paula and husband Paul Castillo, Beatriz and husband Encarnacion Castillo, Jr., Elodia and husband Alex Pulido, Andrea and husband Gary Figueroa, Aurora and husband Jorge Rivera, Mary and husband Cecil Rico, Jr., and Cathy and husband Jimmy Hernandez 23 grandchildren 21 greatgrandchildren four brothers, Frank, Santos, Joe, and Jesse Castillo two sisters, Angelita Cruz and Maria Tello and numerous extended family and dear friends.The family would like to offer their sincerest gratitude to the Selvera family for all their love and support throughout the years.It was Ignacios dream to see the new Sacred Heart Sanctuary come to be. Please make memorial contributions in Ignacios memory to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Elgins Building Fund.The family will receive friends at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Elgin from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday, March 20th with the Prayer of the Holy Rosary recited at 7:00 PM. A Celebration of Christian Burial Mass will be conducted at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Elgin at 10:00 AM Thursday, March 21st with Father George and Deacon Botello officiating. Interment will follow at the Elgin Latin Cemetery.
