Harvey Kyser

Harvey Scott Kyser was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 28, 2020.  He was born on March 2, 1964, in Austin, Texas, to Bland and Evelyn Kyser.  As a child he grew up in and around Elgin and graduated from Elgin High School with the class of ’82.  He served in the US Army Reserves, attended Texas Lutheran University, Sul Ross State University and Austin Community College. Harvey worked with Christianson Plumbing as a plumber for over 27 years.

Harvey enjoyed hunting, fishing, and coaching his children and their friends in various sports. He loved his family and enjoyed time with them and his friends. His most favorable time are the times spent at the coast with family and friends.  He had a special talent for throwing horseshoes, shooting pool, and digging up sand dollars. Harvey had a special place in his heart for cheezy dad jokes. He was 100% dedicated to his family and never faltered to provide and go above and beyond for them.

Harvey was reunited in death with his father, Bland Mead Kyser.

Harvey leaves in God’s hands to cherish his memory his loving wife, Dena Scott Kyser; his five children, Amanda and husband Rick  Stevens, Lane Kyser, Travis Kyser and wife Meghan, Benjamin Kyser, and Jackson Kyser; his two grandchildren, Isabel and Kuyler Stevens; his mother, Evelyn Charline Kyser; his siblings, David Kyser, Carolyn and husband Norman Brown, Charlie Kyser and wife SherriLynn, and Linda and her husband, Roy Howell;  mother-and-father-in-law, Ann and Joe Scott, his brother-and-sister-in-law, Dave and Angela Scott.

The family will receive guests at Speir Cemetery on Monday, July 6th from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM; followed by a Graveside service at 10:00 AM with the Reverend David Kyser presiding.  Honoring Harvey as Pall Bearers are: Lige Brown, Mason Brown, Bland Cooper, KC Kyser, Jeff Scott, Tyler Scott, Eddy Scott, Daryl Scott, Chris Sukup, Stephen Brown, and Jason Davis.
