Glen Jones

Glen David Jones, Sr., 91, passed away Sunday morning, July 1, 2012. Glen was born on November 12, 1920, in Elgin, Texas, the second youngest of seven children born to Felix Franklin Jones and Clara Elizabeth Doyle Jones. He grew up in Elgin and married Gladys Maddox of Bastrop County. He served his country during WWII with the U.S. Army Air Corps. When he returned from the service, they had two boys, Charles and David. He worked for several companies before finding a career at the Austin American Statesman ultimately retiring as a district manager in the early 198039s. Following the death of his first wife, he married Lucille Scott of Bastrop County in 1993. Among many things, his passions were traveling and gardening.
