Eva Patterson

December 25, 1918 — March 23, 2013

Eva Mae Patterson beloved mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother and greatgreat grandmother went home to Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 22, 2013. She was a lifelong resident of Elgin, Texas.Eva was born to Evie and Alvin Jackson on December 25, 1918 as second of seven children to this union. She was preceded in death by her husband, S.T. Patterson of Littig, TX. She is now with her Mother, Father, brothers Johnny Jackson, Roy Jackson, Earl Jackson and Hardy Jackson and her sister Eddie Lee Bishop. Eva accepted Christ at an early age and devoted her life in service to Our Savior. She was a devoted mother and housewife. She was a childcare provider to many children of Elgin and was instrumental in raising them with all the love she owed on her own family. Evas warmth and generosity will be missed by her sister, Mable Jones of Austin, TX , her daughters, Margaret Simmons, Emma Mackey, Jo Patterson of Elgin, TX and Patricia Eason Jerry of Austin, TX. She will be missed by her grandchildren Eva Price Edwin, Terry Simmons Rebecca, Tracy Kettani, Janice Shelton Charles, Rosalind Gamble James and Nathan Mackey. She has 8 great grandchildren and 2 greatgreat grandchildren that will morn her passing. She has a multitude of nieces and nephews that will miss her dearly.The family will receive guests at the Elgin Funeral Home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday, March 26th. A Home Going Celebration will be conducted at Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church of Elgin at 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 27th with the Reverend, L.R. White officiating. Interment will follow at J.J. Manor Cemetery of Webberville.
