Now his work is ended, And he is laid to rest,
I seem to hear him whisper, O’ Lord I’ve done my best!
Well done my faithful servant I know you’ve struggled hard
That’s why I thought to call you, From labor to rest…
It has pleased our Heavenly Father on January 4, 2018, at the age of sixty-eight, Pastor Eugene Bradshaw transferred from the labor of this life into peaceful repose with faithful who went before him. He was born to Horace Bradshaw and Rosie Lee Green on May 2, 1949, in Manor, Texas. Eugene grew up in Travis County, where he attended public schools in Manor ISD, graduating from Manor High School. Eugene grew up in a strong Christian foundation and accepted Christ at an early age. Eugene worked as a masonry in the city of Austin and surrounding area. His work may be seen at the Capital Building, the Gray Walk, and the Domain.
Eugene married his high school sweetheart, Elizbeth Jackson, on December 2, 1967. This union was blessed with three boys, Eugene, Jr, Jerry, and Larry. Being very proud of “My Three Sons,” he
became a great husband, father, and an awesome granddaddy, as well as a provider for his family.
Eugene and his family loved fishing as a family outing.Into the Silent Church they trod,
Bearing the body of a man of God,
Tears streaming down many a valiant face,
They had known and love this man of grace
Their troubles and sorrows into his ears had poured,
The old, young, sick, healthy, poor, rich, dark, white and everyone
His mission finished, his reward ahead
In one quiet moment for the last time he bowed his head.Mr. Bradshaw became a fisherman of men in his later years of life. Reverend Bradshaw was a faithful servant of the Gospel and the founder of Independence Church of Salvation, in Manor, Texas. As Pastor, he understood that we are all diverse having different gifts, but we are one body in Christ and to that end, he and his wife, Elizabeth lived their lives. Their faithfulness to duty in Kingdom Work is to be remembered and commended.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Larry Bradshaw; his sister, Ada Marie Baker-Bradshaw; and brother, William Baker Bradshaw.
Pastor Bradshaw leaves in God’s hands to cherish his legacy, his loving partner in life and ministry of fifty years, Elizabeth Bradshaw; two sons, Eugene Bradshaw, Jr., and Jerry Bradshaw; eight grandchildren, Lacy, Eugene, III, Shade, Jerry, Jr., Brad, Joel, Mariah, and Janiah; five great-grandchildren, Tavarious, Jonathan, La’Courtney, and London; his sisters, Etta Lee Crawford, Mary Roberts Bradshaw, Leeora Baker Bradshaw, Peggy Bradshaw, and Kay Bradshaw; his brothers, James Bradshaw, Horace Bradshaw, and George Bradshaw; Uncles, Aunts and Nieces and Nephews; and a host of other relatives and dear friends, including the congregation at the Independence Church of Salvation.
