Mr. Ernest Vincent, Sr. a lifelong resident of Elgin Community was called to his heavenly home on Thursday, July 4, 2013. Ernest was born on September 1, 1930 to John Vincent and Clara Rubell in Elgin, Bastrop County, Texas. He was the youngest child.Growing up with a strong Christian foundation and Godly parents, Ernest accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized. The Vincent family joined Mount Moriah Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend E. J. Johnson. Ernest supported the church and participated in the choir. Ernest attended the public schools in Bastrop County. Ernest was joined in Holy Matrimony with Billie Joyce Williams on July 21, 1956. Their union was entrusted with two boys and two girls.Ernest worked for Elgin Butler Brick Company as a brick classer, retiring after 48 years of faithful service. He was known as Cowboy.Ernest is preceded in death by his parents, one son Ernest Vincent, Jr., six brothers and five sisters.Mr. Vincent leaves in Gods hands, a wife, Billie Joyce of fifty seven years, two daughters, Larcina and Maurice Scott of Elgin, Pamela Milligan of Austin, a son, Clayton Vincent and wife Peggy of Littig nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren brothers, Sherman Vincent and Roy Vincent sisters, Annie Russell and Jamie Vincent sisterinlaw Katherine Vincent all of Elgin and a host of nieces and nephews spanning to four generations, and a host of other relatives and friends.
