Erhard Goerlitz

Erhard Oscar Goerlitz, local rancher and farmer, died Saturday evening, September 24, 2011 at 92 years of age. Erhard was born the second generation of German immigrants, in McDade, Texas on January 19, 1919 and was a lifetime member of the McDade Faith Lutheran Church. While growing up in McDade, Erhard helped on his family farm and also had a job at the McDade Pottery, and later worked for over 30 years at Elgin Brickyard. He married Louise Smith on August 13, 1941 and left for the Army the following day.
