Ella Dene Halsey, 71, passed away peacefully, at her son"s home in Lexington, surrounded by her loving family, early Friday morning, June 10, 2016. Ella was born in Cumberland Gap, Tennessee on November 19, 1944.Ella was a diligent homemaker, devoted animal lover and loving mother and grandmother. She worked for General Electric in the early part of her adult life and later devoted her time to managing a farm and home. She was a member of the Humane Society of the United States and a member of the National Quarter Horse Association.Ella was preceded in death by both her parents, Robert Duncan, Sr. and Ada Mae Ledger Duncan; her second husband, Gerald McKeeman, and infant son, Richard Lynn Treadway. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 43 years, Joseph Halsey; her two sons, Billy Treadway and wife, Jessica of Alabama and Rick Treadway and his partner, Aaron Runyon of Texas; five grandsons, Billy of Indiana, Chris, Brandon, Scott all of Tennessee, and Damien of Alabama; two granddaughters, Jasmine and Vanessa both of Alabama; her six siblings, Lee Roy Duncan, Ruth England, Norma Moore, and Fontella Duncan all of Tennessee, and Nina Smith and Robert Duncan, Jr. both of Indiana; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren. Special thanks to her first husband, Ralph Daniel Treadway of Tennessee for the wonderful support and presence rendered in the last three months of Ella"s life in Texas.A Memorial Service, celebrating Ella"s life will be conducted at Roger"s Harvest House, 814 South Wayne Street, Hamilton, IN 46742, at 5:00 PM on Thursday, June 23rd. The family requests a confirmation of attendance via phone, text, or email to her son, Rick Treadway, by Monday, June 20th. A private memorial service will be conducted in Sharps Chapel, Tennesse, where her remains will be inurned with her parents and other family members at the Jay Will England Cemetery, Sharps Chapel, Tennessee.
