Kittys Lifes Journey Sister Ella Mae Jones Gaines, affectingly known as Kitty, was born the second child to Charlie Jones and Amanda Lofton Evans on October 28, 1943 in Utley, Texas. Ella attended public schools in Bastrop County. With the urge to complete her education she received her GED at the age of fifty. Not stopping there, she received her Computer Certificate from Southern Careers Institute in Austin, Texas. At an early age, Ella accepted Christ and was baptized by Reverend J. D. Cleveland at Union Hill Baptist Church in Utley, Texas. Ella was a diligent and faithful servant for the Lord, starting as a youth at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend E R. Mc Shan. She served with several churches, Rising Star Church of Austin, Mount Pilgrim, and Winns Memorial before coming back to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where she worked out her soul salvation as a Sunday School teacher, Mission I Society and serving on the Usher Board. Ella participant with the Elgin Sub District Usher board and was a supporter of the Saint John Association. As a young lady, Ella was joined in Holy Matrimony with Moses Aldridge. Their union was entrusted with five children.In the prime of her life, Ella was united with Reverend Hulon Neal and became a Mom to his children.Later on your journey, she married Charles Gaines. Ella worked as a nurses assistance for twenty years in varies nursing home centers in the Austins Metropolitan area, before finding her ideal job working with children as a bus monitor for Bastrop ISD. She retired in 2007. Kitty loved children so much that in her midlife crises, she adopted a beautiful little girl and a little bouncing baby boy, Jade and Jayonte Selmon. Being a strong Black Christian woman, she taught her children to have faith and believe in Jesus. She put the fear of God in them. Kitty answered the Lords called on the evening of July 21, 2014, with her family and friends surrounding her bedside. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, a grandson, one sister, Ernestine Evans Joiner, and four brothers, Charles, Theo, Bruce and Reverend L. B. Evans, Jr. Kitty lived a thankful enriched life to be long remembered and cherished by her daughter: Beverylon Aldridge, Carol Aldridge, Brenda and husband Willie Neal, and Jayonte Selmon her sons: Duane Aldridge and wife, Rosie, Patrick Aldridge and wife, Wendy, Stacy Aldridge, Hulon Neal, III and wife, Jessie, and Jade Selmon her sisters: Etta Faye Harrell, Belinda Evans, Lula Jones, Arlene Jones, Sharon Jones, and Arlene Johnson one half brother, Willie Davis and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, a multitude of nieces, and nephews spanning to four generations, one aunt, Lorraine Lofton and a host of other relatives and friends including the Pleasant Hill church family.
