Edward Jancaric

Edward T. Jancaric, 88, of Manor, Texas, formerly of Manteno, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 14, 2018, in Elgin, Texas. Edward was born the son of John and Mary (Zvonkovich) Jancaric, in Chicago, Illinois on June 6, 1930. On September 30, 1950, he married the love of his life, Bette Burkhart.

Edward was preceded in death by his wife, Bette Jancaric; both his parents, and twelve siblings.

Edward worked as a crane machinist for Wisconsin Steel Works in Chicago, Illinois for over 33 years until his retirement. He was a family man above all else and was devoted to his wife of 47 years, his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and pets.

His hobbies included reading and working puzzles. He really enjoyed Texas Country Living - He would often take restful walks through the oaks, where he loved to watch the native birds like the roadrunners, hawks, and cardinals.

He is survived by one son and three daughters, James Jancaric and wife Dina of Katy, Darlene and husband Michael Stumbough of Manor, Deborah and fiancé Dave Forrest of Joliet, IL, Kimberly and husband Jeffery Thompson of Warrenville, IL; 15 grandchildren, Jeffrey Suerth and wife Jessica, Daniel Suerth, Allison Suerth, Dennis Suerth and wife Jill, Caitlin Suerth, Harli Thompson, and Kyle Thompson all of Illinois, and Krystal Jancaric, James Jancaric and wife Ashley, Cody Jancaric and fiancé Jennifer Bay, Cheyenne Jancaric, Paige Stumbough, Gerardo Amaya and wife Grisel, Monica Flores, and Javier Alvarez all of Texas; 10 great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Suerth, Michael Suerth, Anna Suerth, and Leah Suerth all of Illinois, and Dallas Jancaric, Braeden Jancaric, Aubrey Jancaric, Carter Jancaric, Copper Jancaric, and Caleb Jancaric all of Texas; his loving pet companions, Mandy, Lily (Nellie), Benji (Bunji), and Henry. He will be deeply missed by all.

A Graveside Service will be conducted at the Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet, Illinois on Friday, September 28th at 11:00 AM.
