Edgar Sherbenou

d. December 26, 2015

Edgar V. "Ed" Sherbenou, 67, was born on November 14, 1948, in Lawrence, Kansas, and passed through this world, in the arms of his loving wife, on December 26, 2015, at their home in Elgin, Texas. He is the son of Helen and Vern Sherbenou who came to DeKalb, Illinois, in the 1950"s. Ed received his early education at the DeKalb schools and his Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point in 1975. Ed enjoyed playing his guitar, listening to music, flying airplanes, fishing, gardening and stock trading. He had a strong medical knowledge and a vast interest in a healthy lifestyle. He loved the peace and quiet of his own home, which he built with his sons. He yearned for the wilderness and traveled the wide open roads of the United States and this he did with his loved ones, year after year. He had a wealth of information and for that, we thank him for all the knowledge we know today. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Joan, whom he married on June 26, 1971 in Stevens Point, Wisconsin; his three wonderful sons, whom he was very proud, Tim and Bradley of Houston and Kyle of Austin. Ed left behind his greatest legacy, his children, and he is alive in each of them. We will keep him alive in sharing precious memories of the past - memories that will bring laughter and joy to us all. Certain smells, certain foods, certain songs and special times of the year will bring him to the forefront of our minds. Ed will be deeply missed by his family and loved ones.A Memorial Service, commemorating the life of Ed, will be conducted at a later date.
