Donald "Don" C. Wortham, 54, of Elgin, TX, passed away suddenly at his home early Sunday morning, August 30, 2015.Don was born on Saturday, July 15, 1961, in Paris, TX, to Bob Wortham and Frances (Brown) Nemeth. Don worked as a truck driver for Ryder Trucking (Do it Best). Don"s passion was animal care and rescue.Don is preceded in death by his step-father, Joe Nemeth; step-mother, Teri Wortham; his maternal and paternal grandparents; father-in-law, Robert Smith; and mother- in-law, Lila Shisler.He will be dearly missed by his wife of 31 years, Jeannine (Smith) Wortham; daughter, Deborah and husband, Jeremy Rankin; father, Bob Wortham; mother, Frances Nemeth; brother, Bob Wortham; sister, Dawn and husband, John Kelly; his five fur babies, Taylor, Mattie, Patches, Sammy and Odie; his mother-in-law, Raenelle Smith; three sister-in-laws, Jacque and husband, Mark Williams, Janice and husband, Russ Smith, and Joyce and husband, CJ Thomas; three brother-in-laws, Bob Smith and wife, Jennifer, Frank Shisler and wife, Shellie, and William Bonney and wife, Ryan; as well as many nieces and nephews; and close friend, Lisa Eddins.The family will receive guests at the Elgin Funeral Home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday, September 3rd. Funeral Services will be held at the Elgin Funeral Home at 11:00 AM Friday, September 4th with the Reverend, William Bonney officiating. Interment will follow at Young"s Prairie Cemetery.
