Donald "Don" Eugene Weber, 59, passed away peacefully at his home in Elgin, Texas, surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday morning, February 9, 2016. Don was the first born to Jackie and Paul Weber on the Scott Air Force Base in Illinois on June 1, 1956. The first part of Don"s life was spent traveling the globe with his family while his father served in the Air Force. He always talked about his memories in Alaska, France, and Lubbock " his favorite was Alaska! After graduating from Crockett High School in Austin, he married the love of his life, Janet Gay Bennett in 1974. Together they raised three children, two daughters and one son. With a new family to support, he began working as a carpenter until he started working with his dad driving dump trucks. Several years later, he began employment with Travis County as a haul truck driver and then became a senior heavy equipment mechanic before he retired in 2000. Don loved to fish, hunt, and camping with his family. Don is preceded in death by both his parents. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Janet; his two daughters, Dawnyel Leah and husband Bryan Sullivent of Bastrop, and Jessica Ann Weber of Kingsland; his son, Donald "Donnie" Eugene Weber, II and wife Tiffany of Spicewood; and 12 grandchildren, Kiersten and Laicey; Destiny, Tiera, Tyra, and Tarianna; Michael, Violet, Dayla, and Donald Eugene "Trey" Weber, III, Trevor and Taylor Fohn; his two brothers, Mark "Peanut" Weber and Russell "Rusty" Weber; and nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.A Memorial Service will be conducted at Elgin Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Friday, February 12th with Tommy Wenzel officiating. Family and guests are invited to attend a repast with the family at their home in Elgin.
