Deborah Ann Hannan-Edsall was born on October 20,1958 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Gordon Allan Hannan and Barbara Ann Ross-Hannan.
In 1984, Debbie met Anthony (Tony) Edsall and fell in love. They were married on June 2, 1985. Together, they had three children: A.J., Russell, and Sarah.
Debbie spent 34 years taking care of children in her home. For over three decades, she nurtured, loved, and looked after generations of children who would become like family to her. Debbie was also a trusted and exceptional servant of the Pioneer Foundation and the Phelan Road Group Twelve-Step Recovery Program. She aided, touched, and changed the lives of those struggling with recovery for 39 years. By helping others in this program, Debbie saved the lives of countless people struggling with recovery from alcoholism and will forever be an inspiration and guiding light to those trying to navigate the harrowing and rough road to recovery.
Debbie also enjoyed gardening and was especially fond of making flower beds. She tended to plant roses, marigolds, and other colorful flowers that were every bit as beautiful, warm, joyous, and uplifting as she was to others in life.
Debbie is preceded in death by her father, Gordon; brother, Edward Hannan.
She is survived by her husband, Anthony “Tony” Edsall; children, A.J., Russell, and Sarah; mother, Barbara; brothers, James and Gary; and numerous nieces, nephews, and relatives.
The family would like to thank Dr. Posnik, Texas Oncology, St. David’s Hospital,
Beacon Hospice, and numerous family and friends for their love and support.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests potted and bedding plants to fill Debbie’s Garden with love and remembrance.
