God, in his infinite wisdom, has called Norman J. Davis from labor to rest. His parents, John H. Davis and Jessie Houston, welcomed this bundle of joy on June 2, 1935, in Bastrop, Texas. Brother Norman accepted Christ at an early age at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Sayersville, Texas.
Brother Norman spent his educational years in the Sayersville and Elgin school districts. Later in life, Brother Norman moved to Austin, where he was gainfully employed by the City of Austin. He moved to Corpus Christi, Texas, where he worked for the City of Corpus Christi. After thirty years, he returned to Austin and enjoyed life and his family until God called him home.
Norman was preceded in death by his parents, John H. Davis, and Jessie Houston, his daughter, Vera, four brothers, and one sister.
Norman leaves to cherish his memories: Children: Lucy Parker (Paul) McAlester of Oklahoma, Phyllis Benson of Corpus Christi, Texas, Norman Davis, Jr. of Bastrop, Texas; Grandchildren: Annisa Turner, Paul Parker, Jr., Dareon Parker, Jessica Benson; Great-grandchildren: Ashley Kannard, Naja Washington; Great-Great grandchildren: Melo Parker and Ariyan Drew; one Sister, Mildred Maxwell of Austin, Texas, Sister-in-law: Lorene Davis of Elgin, Texas; and nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
Norman J. Davis, of Austin passed away Saturday, January 20, 2024. Family and Friends will gather to Celebrate Davis' Life during a Graveside Service at Sayers Cemetery, Thursday, January 25th at 3:00 PM.
