David Arredondo, 59, won a short fight with cancer and went home to be with our Lord on December 29, 2016, surrounded by his loving family.
David was born in Lubbock, Texas on December 1, 1957 to Jose Arredondo and Valentina Sifuentes. On January 21, 1994, he met the love of his life, Melissa Torres and were united in Holy Matrimony on April 19, 1998.
David is preceded in death by his mother, Valentina Arredondo; daughter, Stephanie Torres; son, Anthony Arredondo; sister, Josie Diaz; and brother, Jose Alexander Arredondo.
Survivors are his loving wife, Melissa Arredondo; father, Jose Arredondo; son, Christopher Ruiz; daughters, Kryscelda Olivarez (Christopher Martinez), Amber Ruiz (Jose Angel Olvera), and Ashley Garza (Alfred Valadez); his pride and joys are his fourteen grandchildren, Aliyah Ruedas, Jordan Martinez, Julissa Roman, Natalye and Jeremiah Garza, Iliana, Jose, Jr., Jazlynn, Jocelynn, Yanira and Nathan Olvera, Brooklyn Arredondo, Dominic and Ava Ruiz; his siblings, nieces, nephews and cousins. Popo David will be truly missed by all, especially his grandchildren whom he loved with all his life. He made sure that they all were well taken care of. The babies all will miss his culinary skills including his enchiladas, rice and beans.
A very special thanks to all for the donations, visits and prayers. Also thanks to his daughter, Kryscelda Olivarez; sisters, Helen Castro and Daisy Leyendecker for helping care for David during his illness. Also to Melinda Hipolito and Julie Torres.
Serving as Pallbearers are Max Leyendecker, Alfred Valadez, Edward Arredondo, Gilbert Gomez, Joseph Hipolito, Tony Garza and Jose Angel Olvera; Honorary Pallbearers are Toby Arredondo, Victor Gomez, Arthur Villalobos, David Torres and Adrian Villalobos.
