Corliss Carrie Andrews, 61, military housewife of Smithville, passed away in the arms of her loving husband, Monday morning, June 3, 2013. She was the younger of two children born to Laura Elizabeth Baker McDowell and Franklin Stacy McDowell in Jacksonville, Florida on October 28, 1951. She grew up and attended schools in Pasadena, Texas. After graduation, she married the love of her life, Patrick Glen Andrews. Together this union bore a beautiful daughter, Laura Elizabeth Andrews. In 1978, the family moved to Smithville, Texas, where they would make their home. She was an active member of the Bastrop Chapter Red Hat Society and loved to volunteer her time with the Bastrop Senior Center. She enjoyed crocheting, scrapbooking, cardmaking, and had a talent for any craft she had an interest in. Her true passion in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, Skyler and Ayla.She was preceded in death by her parents. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 43 years, Patrick Glen Andrews only daughter, Laura Elizabeth and husband Aaron Witt of Smithville her two grandchildren, Skyler Stone Witt and Ayla Rose Witt only brother, Wayne Stacy McDowell of Smithville two nieces one nephew and numerous greatnieces and greatnephews and dear friends.The family will receive guests at the Elgin Funeral Home from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM Thursday, June 6th with a Prayer Service at 4:00 PM. A Life Celebration will follow at the family home in Smithville, Texas at 6:00 PM. Inurnment is scheduled for a later date at the Antioch Cemetery in Alum Creek, Texas.
