Christopher Anthony Lopez, 29, of Taylor went to be with his Heavenly Father, surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, July 27, 2022. Christopher was born on April 8, 1993 in Georgetown, to Jessica Lopez and Jose Vielma. He grew up with his mother and stepfather, Miguel Gauna, Jr. Chris loved growing up with his two brothers, Adrian and Adam Gauna. Chris attended Taylor High School and graduated with the Class of 2011. After high school, he met Vivianna Esquivel, and the young couple was blessed with their loving son, Jax Anthony Lopez on January 13, 2016. Chris loved being a dad, and thoroughly enjoyed playing Nerf Guns and PlayStation with his son, as well as watching Anime and YouTube. Occasionally Chris would catch his son watching bad YouTube videos, but the two were just alike - two big kids playing their hearts out!
Chris was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Aurelia Venegas and Guadalupe Lopez; his grandparents, Debbie Moya and Juana Garza; his aunts and uncles, Susan, Tony, Sid, Solomon Lopez, and Mari Garcia-Cortez; and his cousin, Marisela Almanza
Chris survived by his loving family; his pride and joy, his son Jax Lopez; both his parents, Jessica and Miguel Gauna; his brothers, Adrian and Adam Gauna, and Joseph Garcia; his sisters, Miranda Garza and Mariah Vielma; his grandparents, Cruz and Stephanie (Hall) Lopez, Salomon Moya and Jaunita Alderete, Alejandro and Margaret Ramirez; his aunts and uncles, Carlos and Magan Lopez, Clarrissa Carrillo and Nick Brockeveldt, Salomon Moya, Debbie Moya, Xander Lopez, Angel, Michelle, Freddy, Randy, Steven Gauna, Veronica, Crystal Ramirez, Arturo, Juan Velma, and Veronica Casarez; his great-grandparents, Joe and Maria Peña, and Ernestina Valsquez; his brother-in-law, Adam Garza; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and dear friends. He will be greatly missed by all family and friends that he left behind to in a better place.
Family and Friends will gather at Elgin Funeral Home for Visitation, Tuesday, August 9th from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Celebration of Life will be conducted at Elgin Funeral Home, Wednesday, August 10th at 10:00 AM with Minister Donna Epperson presiding. Interment will follow at Taylor City Cemetery.
Honoring with Grace as Pallbearers are: Adam Gauna, Adrian Gauna, Solomon Moya, Jr., Jacob Cortez, Joey Camarda, Randy Garcia, Luis Medrano, and Arturo Medrano. Honorary Pallbearers are: Jax Lopez, Julius Hebb, Lincoln Brockeveldt, Xander Lopez, Zakariah Hall, Mike Gomez, and Barry White
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made In Christopher’s Memory, for Jax Lopez, to the Elgin Funeral Home.
