Charles Hendrix

October 26, 1958 — February 9, 2021

Taylor, Texas

Charles Edward (Chuck) Hendrix, 62, of Taylor, TX, formerly of Manor, TX went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, February 9, 2021.  Chuck was born in Pineville, LA on October 26, 1958. The family returned to his Mother’s native Texas when he was an infant.  The family moved to Manor when Chuck was 9 years old and that is where he spent most of his life, until moving to Taylor, TX.

Chuck worked most of his life in the construction industry as a home builder and carpenter.  He loved working with his hands and was skilled at building just about anything from houses to furniture.  He was a perfectionist in his work and this made him very much in demand for helping family or friends with any type of construction or woodworking projects.  He never said no to family and friends when they asked for help.

The greatest joys of his life were his daughters and grandchildren.  He spent the last years of his life enjoying time with them, being the best Pawpaw ever!  He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend and will be missed dearly and remembered with love.

Chuck is survived by his loving daughter, Brandy and husband Spencer Bair, grandson Levi and granddaughter Peyton, of Hutto, TX;  daughter Alicia Lara and grandsons Tyler and Jaden, of Elgin, TX; sister, Debra and husband Robert Drosche, of Manor, TX; brother, TC Hendrix and wife Karen of Palestine, TX; nieces, Julia and Chelsea Irwin of Austin, TX;  nephew, Chad Hendrix and wife Angela of Jacksonville, TX;  nephew Thomas Rupkey and wife Tiffany of Round Rock, TX; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins both in Texas and NC, and countless loving friends.

Chuck was preceded in death by his mother, Winnie (Toungate) Jackson; step-father, Martin Jackson, father, Raymond TC Hendrix; sisters Wanda (Jackson) Rupkey and Virginia Jackson; niece, Nikki Fointno; great-nephew, Jacob Hendrix and grandparents, Lloyd & Julia Toungate and Hubbard & Bertie Jackson.
