Charles William Everage, 83, of Elgin passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Charles was born middle child to Addie Alpha Traylor Everage and Ernest Everage on June 1, 1932, in Montrose, LA. He grew up and attended schools in Beaumont. After graduating high school, he joined the United States Air Force, where he served honorably until his discharge in 1952. On May 8, 1953, he married the love of his life, Theresa Daigle. Charles provided for his new family working for Mobile Oil and Gas refineries, where he retired with 39 years of service. After retirement, Theresa and Charles purchased a ranch north of Elgin; where he enjoyed repairing fences and working his cattle. His biggest passions were his family and his church! Charles was preceded in death by both his parents; his daughter, Sheila Banach; his sister, JoNell Evans.Charles is survived by his wife of over 63 years, Theresa Everage; Tom Everage and wife, Deirdre of Elgin; Steve Everage and wife, Lori of Elgin; son-in-law, Greg Banach of Vidor; brother, Ernest Everage, Jr. and wife, Judy of Louisiana; five grandchildren, Amanda, Clint, Jozef, Chance, and Chelsea; and numerous nieces and nephews.Memorial contributions can be made in Charles" memory to the Lost Pines Cowboy Church of Elgin, 334 Roemer Road, Elgin, Texas 78621Funeral Service will be conducted at the Lost Pines Cowboy Church of Elgin at 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 18th with Pastor Greg Long officiating. Interment with Military Honors will be the following day, Thursday, May 19th at 2:00 PM at the China Cemetery, China, Texas.
