Charles Budzinsky

Charles Leonard "Bud" Budzinsky passed away at his home, in Elgin, early Saturday morning, June 27, 2015, at the age of 71. Bud was born on November 3, 1943 in McAlester, Oklahoma. After his honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy, he began working in the oil and gas refineries. While working over 40 hours a week and learning the industry from the ground up, Bud enrolled in college and earned a degree in business. Bud eventually became a General Superintendent for Chevron and was responsible for the development and operations of many refineries across the country. After his retirement, Bud continued working in the industry as a consultant while living in Wyoming and West Texas.Bud was a gamblin" man and enjoyed playing the slots and three card poker with his buddies. He was a fan of John Wayne, liked watching the Lonesome Dove and Godfather series. He loved the outdoors and would fish and hunt whenever he could. Above all else, Bud loved his family and was a very proud grandfather!Bud is preceded in death by both his parents, Beatrice Laura Holt-Freeman and John Franklin Freeman; his son, Daniel Dean Budzinsky, and nephew, Johnny Johnson.Bud is survived by his wife, Ruby L. Budzinsky; daughter, Michelle L. and husband, Jason Smith; son, Joel L. Budzinsky and wife, Kelly; daughter, Erica and husband Eric Poth; son, Adrian Lopez and wife, Darlene; sister, Betty and husband, Randy Johnson; seven granddaughters, Hayley Creasey, Hannah Creasey, Hayden Smith, Hailey A. Smith, Reagan Lopez, Emma Fosdick, and Josephine Fosdick; only grandson, Hunter Creasey; his aunt, Joann Holt; and numerous nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews. A Memorial Service will be conducted at the Elgin Funeral Home on Friday, July 10th at 10:00 AM. Inurnment with Military Honors will follow at 1:45 PM at the Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
