A Time to be Born
Carl Maculey Chatman was born April 2, 1954, to the late Carl E. Chatman and Gloria E. Chatman. He was the second of four children.
A Time to Learn
Carl received his education within Detroit Public School System.
A Time to Love
In 1978, Carl settled his roots in Austin, Texas and eventually found the love of his life in 1996, Elaine W. Thompson. To he loved until his last breath.
A Time to Labor
Carl worked for Chrysler Automotive Plant until relocating to Texas, and worked for Motorola until he decided to go into business for himself as he was proud of Chatman Works!
A Time for Hobbies
Outside of his favorite pass time with talking to his grandchildren and great granddaughter he loved to go fishing. He was his best with a rod and reel in his hands. He was even given the name “the fish whisperer.”
With his last fishing trip in 2022.
A Time to Reflect
Carl was well known and truly loved by everyone he encountered, Carl will be remembered for his big personality and dedication to his family.
A Time to be Fulfilled.
On May 19th, 2023, the candle that burned so brightly for 69 years began to flicker and now the flame will forever be eternal.
A Time for Legacy
Carl was preceded in death by his father Carl E. Chatman, He leaves to cherish his loving mother Gloria his three brothers, Jessie Dawson (Cynthia), Calvin Chatman and Kermit Chatman (Brenda). His life partner Elaine W. Thompson, the apple of his eye Carla Y. Raggs (Kevin) two grandchildren Danae Benson and DeAndre Benson II one great-granddaughter Bailee Bowden, two aunts Lelia Carter and Delores Derricott-Brewington, a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
