Bobby Alvin Milam, 74, of Elgin, Texas, passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon, December 18, 2012. Bobby was born in Austin, Texas to Ida Bell Campbell and Ross Milam on October 1, 1938 and was raised in a rural community outside of Elgin known as Coon Neck. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Air Force in 1957, as a Military Police and served the first of his four years in the Philippines. After returning from the Philippines in 1959, he married the love of his life, Charlene Carter. Bobby was a lifetime member at Family Worship Center, formerly known as the Coon Neck Community the church where his parents and maternal grandparents were original founders.Bobby was preceded in death by his father, R S Bob Milam and maternal grandparents, Julia and Harvey Campbell.He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 53 years, Charlene Carter Milam three sons, Robb Milam, Randy Milam and wife Vicki, and Ronnie Milam and wife, Alissa his three grandsons, Rusty, Russell and wife Elicia, and Daniel Milam his four granddaughters, Kimberly, Ashley, Sasha, and Shauna his three greatgrandchildren, Bree, Robert, and Raiden his mother, Ida Bell Campbell Milam Watkins his two sisters, Bonnie Machu and Judy Laake as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their families.Memorial Contriubtions can be made in Bobbys memory to the Family Worship Center of Elgin, 2425 F.M. 1704, Elgin, Texas 78621The family will receive guests at the Elgin Funeral Home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday, December 21st. A funeral Service will be conducted at the Family Worship Center of Elgin at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 22nd with Brothers McCorkle and Edmon officiating. Interment will follow a Speir Cemetery.
