Bobby "Bob" Harris Greenhaw, 83, beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away in Bastrop, Texas on May 20, 2016. Bob was born in Giddings, Texas on August 5, 1932, and graduated from Elgin High School. He married Patricia Ayres on October 19, 1951, and served in the U.S. Army for several years. He was employed, as foreman, with the Elgin Butler Brick Company for over fifty years.Bob was an accomplished craftsman, brick layer, mechanic, and math whiz. His many activities included past president of the McDade Watermelon Festival, little league coach, driver"s-ed coach to his children and granddaughter. He enjoyed to hunt and fish, was a speed reader (he loved westerns), and an extremely talented musician at guitar and banjo. He and three close friends started up a country music band back in the sixties where they entertained at numerous events, nursing homes, festivals and parades for over twenty years. Their band was featured in the 1974, movie "Lovin" Molly," directed by famed director and award winner Sydney Lumet; as well as numerous others: "Network," "Dog Day Afternoon," and "Murder on the Orient Express." The band was always in high demand by surrounding communities.Bob is preceded in death by both his parents, John Thomas and Myrtle Rutherford Greenhaw; three brothers, Durward Greenhaw, Jack Greenhaw, John Thomas "JT" Greenhaw, Jr.; four sisters, Allene Boswell, Betty Jane Grimm, Lillian Galloway, and Mildred "Sis" Hunter.Bob is survived by his wife of 64 years, Patricia Greenhaw; his only daughter, Sharon Adcock; his two sons, Bobby "Bubba" and Terry Greenhaw and wife, Teresa and their family; and his granddaughter, Sarah Adcock Buentello (his "Pride and Joy" and "Goose") her husband John Buentello; two sisters, Dorothy Murphy and Jacqueline Smith; and sister-in-law, Bobbie Nell Greenhaw; numerous relatives, friends, and loved ones. His wonderful sense of humor and gentle soul will be dearly missed.
