Barbara Jo Dunbar Fisher, 67, of Wichita Falls, Texas passed away peacefully Saturday afternoon, February 2, 2013. Barbara was born in Big Springs, Texas to Virgil Preston Dunbar, Sr. and Opal Nola Davidson Dunbar on March 3, 1945. In 1980, she received her CNA certification in Brownwood, TX. She was a head cook and dietician for the Brownwood Adult Senior Citizen Daycare before opening her own restaurant. She was an active member Westside Baptist Church of Wichita Falls, where she was baptized and sang in the choir. Barbara enjoyed reading, being involved in church activities, and most of all loved doing things for her family, especially cooking.She is preceded in death by both her parents.She is survived by her three loving sons, Virgil, Greg, and Bryan Ivy two sisters, Linda and husband Jon Pullin and Judy and husband Don Gerdes four grandchildren, Greg Strasser, Joanie Strasser, Tricia Conway, and Misty Holloway 10 greatgrand children six nieces and nephews and many dear friends.The family wishes to extend our most sincere appreciation to all of the health care workers of United Regional Health Care Hospital as well as the nurses and staff of American Hospice for the sensitive and compassionate service. We will forever be grateful for the sincere care you rendered to our mother, sister, and family.The family will receive guests at the Elgin Funeral Home from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 6th. A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 PM Wednesday, February 6th with Brother Geary McManus officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeway Cemetery, Paige, Texas.
