August Emil Wiesner, 89 years old, of Elgin, Texas went to be with the Lord on February 8, 2017. August was born on January 5, 1928 in Copeland, Texas to Emil and Lena Wiesner. He attended Coupland school and served his country with the U.S. Army in World War II. August was a lifetime member of the Elgin VFW Post #6115, and an active member of the Elgin Church of Christ until his health failed him.
He was proceeded in death by his parents Emil and Lena Wiesner; his wife, Margaret Behrend Wiesner of 36 years; his wife, Anna Belle Williamson Wiesner of 29 years; his daughter, Sherry Gay Matocha; his brother and sister, Leslie and Elenora Wiesner; brother-in-law, William Behrend and sister-in-law, Bernice Behrend.
August leaves behind his daughter, Shannon Wiesner Hildenburg and her husband Jerry Hildenburg of Pflugerville; his four grandchildren, Shauna and her husband Jamie Hamby of Round Rock, Krystal and her husband Chris Kriczky of Hutto, Brian Matocha and his wife Kimber of Hutto, Jason Matocha and his wife Meena of Pflugerville; eight great-grandchildren, Tyler and Trent Hamby, Carson and Kallie Kriczky, Caylee, Coy, Cade and Joshua Matocha; his twin brother, Arthur Wiesner of Elgin; brother-in-law Guy Wolf and wife Carol of Pike Creek; sister-in-law Mildred Wiesner of Longview; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive guests at the Elgin Funeral Home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday, February 9th. A Funeral Service will be conducted at the Elgin Funeral home on Friday, February 10th at 1:00 PM with Brother Tom Nuckels officiating. Interment will follow with full Military Honors at the McDade Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to The American Diabetes Association.
Honoring August as Pallbearers will be Kenneth Matocha, Jerry Hildenburg, Brian Matocha, Jamie Hamby, Chris Kriczky, Jason Matocha, Tyler Hamby, Trent Hamby, Coy Matocha, and Cade Matocha.
The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to the staff of University Village Memory Care and his Hospice Nurse, Pam Ochoa, for the comfort and care given to him during his last days on earth. A sincere gratitude to his daughter-in-aw, Jan for the emotional support during his final months.
