Our beloved son Ashton Garland Baker, age 39, tragically passed away in a vehicle accident on December 9, 2024. Ashton was a beloved son, brother, father, cousin, uncle, and friend. He was known for his engaging smile and kind heart, and his laughter and adventurous spirit inspired many. Born September 4, 1985, in Amarillo, Texas, he was a resident of Littig/Manor, Texas. Ashton was a 2004 graduate of Pflugerville High School in Pflugerville, Texas, where he played football as well as the saxophone for the school’s jazz ensemble and marching band. He also played saxophone for his church.
His intense love of flying airplanes and helicopters inspired him to pursue higher education in the field of Aviation. Ashton attended the Aviation Institute of Maintenance (AIM) in Houston, Texas, where he graduated with the highest academic level of honor, Summa Cum Laude.
He was currently employed at Samsung Austin Semiconductor, where he worked as an engineer technician for six years. His hobby was flying his radio-controlled (RC) airplanes and helicopters, and he was a member of the Austin Radio Association Aeroclub. All of his flying colleagues dearly loved him. Ashton’s heart aspiration was to be an entrepreneur and make the Baker family’s legacy property a profitable enterprise.
Ashton is survived by, and will be deeply missed, by his loving partner Juanita Teran, their son Ashton Jr., and his daughter Sunee Korn (Mother Cherokee); his parents, Milton G. Baker II, and Earline Owens (Baker), bonus mother Teresa Baker, twin sister Ashley Baker (Emmanuel), brother Andrew Baker (LaToya), bonus brothers Nicholas Joyner, Charles DeShay (Kim), bonus sister Alexius Baker, niece Aubrielle Baker, nephew Andrew Zamari Baker, and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, an uncle, Wendell “Doc” Baker, whom he dearly loved, an Aunt, Mable Baker-Edison, an Aunt Sandra Owens-Dorty, and an Uncle, Earl Owens.
Rest in peace, dear Ashton. You will forever be in our hearts.
