In Loving Memory of Ashley Shalette Maddox
January 19, 1988 - January 10, 2025
With heavy hearts, we celebrate the life of Ashley Shalette Maddox, who passed away on January 10, 2025. Born on January 19, 1988, in Temple, Texas, Ashley brought joy and warmth to everyone she met. From an early age, her adventurous spirit flourished as she traveled with her loving parents, Elizabeth and Jerry Maddox.
Ashley graduated from Taylor High School in 2006, a milestone that marked the beginning of her journey into nursing, fueled by her compassion for others. She attended Prairie View University and the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, embodying the dedication and care that she would later extend to her family and friends.
Her love for cooking created cherished moments around the dinner table, where laughter and love filled the air. Ashley was known for her vivacious personality; she had a unique ability to light up any room, and her gentle gaze offered comfort and reassurance to all. She lived by the motto, "Live Life To The Fullest," reminding everyone to cherish the present and not to sweat the small stuff.
Ashley joins was reunited at Heaven's Gates with her adored family members, including Pearlie Mae Guy "Big Mama," Lorraine McNeal "Grandma," Leroy Hopes "Grandpa," Roy Lee "Grandpa," and Nathaniel Darden "Papa."
Ashley will be dearly missed by her beloved children, Amare Stelly and Ashton Mesa; her loving mother and father, Elizabeth Maddox (Reginald) of Jarrell, TX and Jerry Maddox (Glenda) of Vicksburg, MS; her caring sisters, Kiera Maddox of Arlington, TX, and Courtney Scott (Alijah) of Leander, TX, as well as her dear brother, Cordez "Bubba" Maddox (Ally) of Pflugerville, TX; her grandmother, Ruby Johnson of Taylor, TX; her nephew, Avry Scott "TeeTee;" and special companion, Mirakle Rollie of Taylor, TX; and numerous extended family and dear friends. Ashley, you will forever be missed, but your legacy of love and joy will continue to inspire all who knew you.
As we navigate this difficult time, we are profoundly grateful to Pastor Daniel Blane and the congregation of Mt. Ararat Baptist Church for their unwavering support, as well as the Holy Temple Church for their care and hospitality.
Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation at Elgin Funeral Home on Friday, January 24th, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. A Home-Going Service will be held at Holy Temple Church of God in Christ on Saturday, January 25th, at 2:00 PM, with Pastor Daniel Blane officiating. Interment will follow at Taylor Cemetery.
As we remember Ashley, let us carry her spirit with us, keeping her light alive in our hearts. "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted." ~ Matthew 5:4.
