Her Lifes JourneyNow her work is endedAnd she is laid to rest,I seem to hear her whisper,OLord Ive done my Well done my faithful servantI know youve struggled hardThats why I thought to call youFrom labor to restSister Annie Vincent Russell was a beautiful little girl born to John Vincent and Clara Rubell Vincent in Bastrop County on May 29, 1921.Annie grew up in a strong Christian foundation and accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized. The Vincent Family joined Mount Moriah Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend E. J. Johnson. Annie attended Bastrop County public schools.Mrs. Annie was joined in Holy Matrimony with Perry Russell on September 17, 1955.Mrs. Annie worked in the community as a teacher at the local day care school for the little children. Being an active member of the church, she used her teaching talent and taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. Sister Russell enjoyed the little children wiping noses and singing Jesus Loves Me. She was a member of Mission I, and served as church secretary for number years, maintaining the books and records from her bedside. Sister Russell held several offices and was a faithful and devoted member, until her death. Sister Russell always showed an interest in the youth, asking their parents about them on an individual concern.On June 16, 2014, Sister Russell heard the voice of Jesus and left her earthly tabernacle. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, seven brothers and five sisters.Mrs. Annie led a fulfilling and active life for the legacy she established is endless. This occasion has caused many hearts to bleed and many eyes to water because of having lost such a living legacy one that feared the Lord.Sister Annie leaves in Gods hands to cherish her legacy, one brother, Sherman Vincent one sister, Jamie Vincent two sisterinlaws, Billie Vincent and Katherine Vincent all of Elgin a multitude of nieces and nephews spanning to four generations, and a host of other relatives and friends, including the Mount Moriah Church family.
