Anna Macklin

Anna Darlene Macklin, 61, of Elgin, Texas passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at Northeast Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas after a lengthy illness.She retired after 25 years from the Department of Public Safety in Austin as a Supervisor.She is preceded in death by her parents, Sammie and Thelma Cordell; one brother, Retired Major USAF, Sammy Lee Cordell; two sisters, Mary Louise Crank and Wanda Faye Mayes.Anna is survived by her four sons, Robert M. Macklin, Samuel Macklin and wife, Virginia of Smithville, James L. Macklin of Elgin, and Larry D. Macklin of Arkansas; loving Nana to 12 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; one brother, James H. Cordell of Elgin; two sisters, Linda E. McKinney of Rockport, Alam H. South of Elgin and former husband and soul mate, Donnie Rice who she enjoyed their many conversations where they would make each other laugh.She will be greatly missed by a large and loving family and many dear friends. Darlene was loved by anyone who was fortunate enough to know her.The family will receive guests at the Elgin Funeral Home on Monday, March 23, 2015 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at 1:00 PM. Interment will be private.
